Who we are

Tracy Frish

Tracy Frish, founder, brings 45 years of extensive journalism and nonprofit management and fundraising experience to Tracy Frish Writing and Research Strategies. Tracy has led development teams at nonprofits over the past 25 years as well as directing marketing and communications efforts. As a nonprofit consultant, she advised more than a dozen clients on nonprofit management, board development, fundraising strategies, and communications. Tracy first honed her expertise in grant writing and research while leading a multi-million-dollar conservation program where she was responsible for both sides of the coin: evaluating grant proposals and making funding recommendations; writing grant proposals to corporate sponsors to fund the program and its grant making. As a graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism, Tracy spent the earlier years of her career as a journalist, reporting for smaller dailies before moving on to USA Today in Washington, DC. where she filled numerous roles: researcher for national desk and cover stories; wire editor; weather reporter and editor; beat reporter for agriculture and rural affairs; researcher and reporter for special projects. Later she produced a nationally broadcast public radio talk show on conservation and the environment.
